Smart Care Acquires REMCO

  • June 29, 2018 – Alpro Service Company, in the New York tri-state area, joins the Smart Care family as the second acquisition
  • June 1, 2018 – Birmingham, AL based REMCO becomes the first acquisition of Smart Care Equipment Solutions
  • May 2018 – Smart Care moves into their new headquarters located in the Osborn 370 building at 370 Wabasha St. N. in St. Paul, MN

  • December 2017 – EEC Acquisition LLC starts doing business as Smart Care Equipment Solutions, or Smart Care for short
  • November 1, 2017 – Equipment Care officially separates from Ecolab to became EEC Acquisition LLC
  • October 2017 – Ecolab announces the sale of their Equipment Care business to Audax Private Equity, a Boston, MA private equity firm

  • 2010s – Ecolab Equipment Care becomes a large national commercial kitchen equipment services and parts organization
  • Late 1990s to early 2000s – Ecolab adds onto Equipment Care by acquiring Metro Appliance Service Inc., Stove Parts Supply Co., Commercial Parts and Service, Peterson’s Commercial Parts & Service, ARR/CRS and S&S Stove
  • 1998 – Ecolab purchases GCS, which becomes Equipment Care

  • 1978 – Became a member of CFESA
  • 1970s – Gas Consumers Association changes their name to Gas Consumer Services, commonly known as GCS
  • 1880s to 1890s – As electricity becomes the norm, Gas Consumers Association starts working on gas ranges and eventually most gas appliances

  • 1878 – Gas Consumers Association is established in San Francisco to work on gas lamps
