Smart Care Acquires Metroplex Refrigeration

Chicago, Ill. – December 19, 2023 — Smart Care, a portfolio company of Wind Point Partners (“Wind Point”), is pleased to announce the acquisition of Metroplex Refrigeration, Inc. (“Metroplex” or the “Company”), a commercial repair, installation, leasing and planned maintenance company for commercial refrigeration and ice machine equipment.

The addition of Metroplex Refrigeration strengthens Smart Care’s existing capabilities in the Dallas – Fort Worth Metroplex, increasing operational density and adding new customer relationships to the region. The acquisition represents Smart Care’s twelfth overall since partnering with Wind Point.

Based in Forth Worth, Texas, Metroplex is a family-owned provider of critical emergency repair, installation and preventive maintenance services, and has a long-standing reputation for leasing commercial ice machines.

Founded in 1985, the Company has earned a reputation as a leading service provider for restaurants, convenience stores and other foodservice operators throughout north Texas.
