Smart Care Acquires Dutton Food Equipment Repair

Smart Care, a portfolio company of Wind Point Partners (“Wind Point”), is pleased to announce the acquisition of Dutton Food Equipment Repair, Inc. (“Dutton” or the “Company”). Dutton represents Smart Care’s 19th acquisition since 2017 and the fourth under Wind Point’s ownership. The addition of Dutton strengthens Smart Care’s presence in the Mid-Atlantic region, complementing existing operations in the region and unlocks capacity for growth.

Based in Richmond, Va., Dutton is a family-owned and operated commercial kitchen equipment repair company, offering emergency repair and preventative maintenance services for cooking, refrigeration and beverage equipment, as well as HVAC mechanical services. Founded in 1984, Dutton has earned the reputation as a premier service provider for commercial kitchen customers in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Headquartered in Alsip, Ill,, Smart Care is a leading U.S. service provider focused on hot-side commercial cooking equipment, stand-alone refrigeration, specialty coffee and beverage, commercial and industrial rack refrigeration and HVAC services. Following the combination, Dutton will join Smart Care’s Equipment Solutions segment, which specializes in commercial kitchen equipment services and has developed a strong reputation for service quality and breadth of equipment capabilities supported by a high-quality technician base.
