Community Care Program: Giving Happy

It’s about the kids

Our Community Care team in Indianapolis once again provided support to one of our Community Care Partners for their annual Christmas Store. Through the generosity and personal involvement of Smart Care volunteers, Renewal Neighborhood Ministry was able to serve 135 families, who purchased gifts at the Christmas Store for 596 kids. It’s estimated that somewhere between 4,200 and 6,000 presents went out the door in a little over 7 hours.

“While the numbers are staggering, the personal encounters were even more encouraging,” said Mike Wilkins, President of Renewal Neighborhood Ministry. “There were lots of smiles and hugs…and several families who shared that they would not have been able to provide Christmas for their children had they not been invited to attend this event.”
